International University Town — the foundation of Vinhomes Saigon Park
Before it was named Vinhomes Saigon Park, the project was zoned in 2012 as the Vietnam International University Township (VIUT) in the city’s northwest. Education remains the main axis of today’s plan.
From VIUT to Vinhomes Saigon Park
- 2008: the International University Town project received its first investment certificate.
- 2012: approval of the 1/2000 detailed plan for the Vietnam International University Township (VIUT), Tan Thoi Nhi commune, Hoc Mon district.
- 2021: the Prime Minister adjusted the investment policy (Decision 2197/QĐ-TTg).
- 2026: approval of the 1/500 plan (31/01), phase 1 land allocation (12/03) and groundbreaking (29/04).

The township’s three pillars
The developer’s materials describe the project as a "knowledge park city" with three pillars: education, technology and innovation, and an ecological living environment. Saigon Startup Village (1.6 ha) with its twin office towers is the "technology" part of the plan, alongside the 700-seat Convention Hall in Golf Park.
